SUMMARY:Istanbul Summer Intensive Programme
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Become familiar with the distinguished architecture of Istanbul and Mimar Sinan and its distinct geometric patterns. Prominent infrastructures include the Şehzade Mosque\, Süleymaniye Mosque\, the Rüstem Pasha Mosque\, and Mihrimah Sultan Mosque\, among others.  \nA significant feature of the program deals with the history and architectural structure features along with on-site visits to other famous geometric artistry. The structure of carefully selected complex geometric patterns\, such as stone pulpits\, ceilings\, and kündekari doors\, will be presented. These will be analyzed to be drawn by students under the guidance and unique approaches of Serap Ekizler Sönmez.  \nA holistic and in-depth method of observing patterns will be built with traditional methods along with a compass and ruler construction to gain different perspectives.  \nMaterials: all materials are included in the[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”128px” alter_height=”small” hide_on_mobile=””][vc_column_text] \n\n\n\nDAYS\nPROGRAMME\nNOTES\n\n\nDAY1 \n15.07.2022 \nFRIDAY\nARRIVAL of participants\nSightseeing and resting in the hotel vicinity – Üsküdar\n\n\nDAY 2 \n16.07.2022  \nSATURDAY\nARRIVAL of participants \n  \nFREE DAY\n\n\n\nDAY 3 \n17.07.2022 \nSUNDAY\nİSTANBUL TRIP\n\n\nTopkapi Palace\nHagia Sophia\nSultanahmet Mosque\n\n\n\n\nDAY 4 \n18.07.2022 \nMONDAY\nWorkshop \nField Trip:  \n\nMihrimah Sultan\nValide Sultan\n\n\n\n\nAnalysis of the design of the Blue Mosque courtyard floor: basic designs and drawings associated with it. \n\n\n\n\nDAY 5 \n19.07.2022 \nTUESDAY\nWorkshop \nField Trip: \n\nRüstem Pasha Mosque\nFree time for the Egyptian market and its surroundings\n\n\n\n\nDrawing the more intricate Hagia Sophia Minbar pattern with ruler and compass construction. \n\n\n\n\nDAY 6 \n20.07.2022 \nWEDNESDAY\nWorkshop \nField Trip: \n– Valide-i Atik Mosque\n\n\nA different perspective on the Hagia Sophia pulpit pattern. \nNew designs through part typology.
