He is an imam, a munshid, a teacher, and a professional translator.
He continues to serve communities in Syria, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia. He holds a bachelors degree from the Faculty of Theology at Istanbul University as well as a teaching certification from Ministry of Awqaf in Damascus.
He learned the art of inshad/singing under well-known munshids in Syria such as Mutasim al-Asli, Muhammad Khalid Zayn al-Abidin, and Mustafa Karim. He has a diploma/ijaza in the ten variant recitations of the Quran as well as in the memorization of the Quran from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Turkey.
He has served as a judge at a number of Quran competitions in Istanbul. A sought after translator and editor at embassies and conferences (and even by the mayor of Istanbul!) in Arabic and Turkish, he also converses in English and Malay.
